Designed and Presented by Rev. John T. Henry
Following Peter's progression toward confirming one's calling and election, each session explores one essential characteristic of spiritual formation.
Every believer eventually wrestles with two defining questions:
Who am I?
Why has God placed me here?
Identity & Purpose is a discipleship teaching series that guides participants through Peter's ancient pathway to spiritual formation, helping them discover God's calling by removing the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual obstacles that often hinder spiritual growth.
Rooted in 2 Peter 1:3–10, this interactive series explores God's promises and provision for a fruitful life, the formation of Christlike character, and the believer's invitation to participate in God's redemptive purposes.
Participants learn that identity shapes purpose, purpose strengthens perseverance, and spiritual maturity produces lasting fruit.
Through biblical teaching, personal reflection, guided exercises, and practical assessments, participants examine their own stories to identify the patterns that often leave Christians spiritually stuck.
Peter's journey from fear to courageous leadership illustrates God's transforming work, just as Moses and Paul overcame deeply rooted obstacles in their own lives.

Learning to trust God's complete provision instead of running in fear.

Stepping out of hiding to know God and be fully known by Him.

Exposing lies, the false narratives in our stories, and embracing a biblical worldview.

Yielding every emotion and desire to the Holy Spirit.

Allowing God to redeem suffering and transform disappointment into faithful endurance.

Living from grace rather than legalism while reflecting God's character.

Rejecting lawlessness and self-centered living to become faithful ambassadors of Christ.

Surrendering every rival affection, every idol, so that the life of Christ is displayed through us.
