Haven House is a home and a Christian Study Center operated by missionaries affiliated with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). The YWAM Student Centre is a nonprofit religious organization that provides a religious educational fellowship for university students and ministry participants. Residents participate in long-term fellowship through shared meals, prayer, study, mentoring, hospitality, and spiritual formation within a cooperative household setting.

The house and ministry are supervised by resident leaders and YWAM missionaries, John & Mary, who are responsible for maintaining community standards, household operations, and program oversight.

The residence functions as a single housekeeping unit where participants live cooperatively as a single household under mission-based communal living principles.

It is no secret that the secular college experience leads to isolation and confusion for Christian students.
Haven House offers an Alternative
Haven House Christian Study Center offers spiritual guidance and a shared community life, with optional residential participation for those seeking a more immersive experience. The Haven House Mentor Program is built around the understanding that Christian growth happens best in relationships. Therefore, each student is invited to walk with a guide who is mature in the Christian faith and will stand alongside them in their faith journey. Like having a personal pastor, this spiritual mentorship is what every growing Christian needs.
Spiritual Growth Mentor
A Spiritual Growth Mentor is a mature Christian who walks alongside a student. The mentor provides spiritual support as the student deepens their walk with Jesus.
Just as an Academic Preceptor helps students navigate their academic growth and development, a Spiritual Mentor helps students navigate their spiritual journey in a campus shaped by diverse and often conflicting worldviews.

While residency is not required for participation, participants residing at Haven House benefit from a more consistent experience. Resident Fellows contribute to the expenses of living at Haven House.
Resident Fellows are All Participants in the Mentor Program
The total Haven House Resident Fellows with Mentor Program fees are $950 per month, which helps cover program materials and activities. However, thanks to generous supporters, Fellows are invited to participate through two $100 scholarships, bringing both programs to just $750 per month.
For non-residents participating in the Mentor Program, the Fee is $100. A $90 scholarship applies, bringing the fee to just $10 per month.
Haven House is not operated as a hotel, boarding house, dormitory, transient lodging facility, or commercial rental enterprise. Rooms are not available to the general public. Residency is limited to approved participants engaged in the fellowship and educational mission of the Christian Study Center. The property is not open to the general public for lodging or short-term occupancy.

The primary purpose of the residence is religious, educational, and community-oriented living integrated into a shared household environment. As a Christian Study Center, Haven House offers meeting space for Christian faculty members and student leaders to conduct Bible studies, lectures, and fellowship.
Haven House has been accepted into the Consortium of Christian Study Centers.
Interested in being a mentor to a student or young adult? Let's get started.

We are supported by local clergy, community leaders, members of the Stockton faculty, and several alumni. Many of these local leaders are mentors to our residents. We demonstrate our commitment to our mission through regular contact with mentors and through formal and nonformal discipleship programs.

Some participants are invited to live at Haven House because they seek a deeper experience of Christian community. They commit to the Mentor Program and the practical commitment to "Love Thy Neighbor." Resident Fellows commit to maintaining quiet hours, a clean household, and maintaining the property.

John & Mary Henry report to the Stockton Christian Alumni Association leadership and document resident agreements, policies, and procedures to maintain a strong discipleship structure and an orderly, welcoming household for Bible studies and hospitality.

We maintain a shared kitchen and arrange communal dining. We live with a shared household covenant that guides how we live in community. Residents are invited and processed through our Resident Admission Group to confirm a right fit.

We have a single shared lease with the owners, Haven Beat the Streets. Residents are invited to the Haven House fellowship for long-term stays, typically one school semester or longer. We do not advertise or rent separate rooms to the general public. All residents are part of one household.

We follow safety guidance set by Galloway Township, including the proper installation, maintenance, and inspection of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. We maintain all facilities, including fire extinguishers, in accordance with housing and fire regulations. And we limit occupancy to local regulations.
